Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are avoiding fall damage by puking - Vg247

Pouring like an avalanche, comin’ down the mountain

Coming to a sheer cliff or other steep drop in Red Dead Redemption 2 — or any open-world game, really — always poses a dilemma to me, as a committed role-player. Do I search for reasonably negotiable route down, taking the extra time? Do I fast travel, breaking immersion? Do I leap to my death and respawn elsewhere for convenience’s sake?
Some enterprising RDR2 types have come up with another choice: Vomit roping. They’ve figured out that blowin’ chunks while falling off a cliff creates a strand of life-saving puke that spares your character from falling damage.
OK, the green rope coming out of your mouth isn’t actually what saves you. It’s the fact that the barf animation overrides the falling animation, such that the falling process (in which you land and take beaucoup damage) never completes.
Simple enough, but how does one pull the trigger? Chances are, you’re carrying an expurgative or two in your inventory — i.e. herbs. In this video, spied first by VG24/7, player Darereal chows down on some Common Bulrush, which makes your character barf pronto. Other herbs can cause make them puke, too, but many take longer to take effect. Common bulrush may be found just about anywhere near a body of water.
Because of the barf trail, players have taken to calling this “vomit roping,” but I think it needs a better, perhaps punnier name. May I suggest:
  • The Ol’ Mountain Holler
  • Yodel-ay-hee-spew
  • Booting Down
  • Ralph-pelling
  • The Liquid Plummet
Anyone got any better ideas? I’m all ears.
